BIRDING SITES- CHINGAZA NATIONAL PARK

in this section you will find information about good birding spots in Bogota Birding. We have started with a presentation of our favourite spots, and the list of site descriptions will get longer during our birding tour at Bogota area.

1- Chingaza National Park




Chingaza National Park is located in the Eastern Cordillera of the Andes, in the northeast of Bogota DC in the departments of Cundinamarca and Meta of Colombia.
It is with lonely landscapes and cloudy where you can see the iconic frailejones, which make a beautiful and unique set with arnica and mosses. Chingaza factory is a real water proof is Siecha gaps and Chingaza, glacial, clarification needed  and the fact that there exists great Chuza reservoir, which supplies water to the capital. Height: 800 to 4,020 m; Weather: Warm-Temperate – Cold; Temperature: 4 °C - 21.5 °C

Day trips to the Chingaza National Park

Day trips and half-day trips can be arranged at any time of the year. Please contact us for more information and bookings. Our prices for guidings in our local area start very nice  for half a day and  for a whole day of birdwatching. The price per person decreases as more people join the trip, and at four or more participants the price is low per person for a full day of birdwatching. When booking, please specify whether you would like to share costs and guide with others or not. Lunches, long-distance pick-ups and other services are not included but can be arranged on request

Additional comments

The Chingaza is easily reached both by car; count on roughly two hours driving from Bogota. Please note that the Chingaza is a very flat area without many references and a complicated road network, so it is easy for new visitors to lose the orientation. Road indications to the most important spots have recently been added, yet it is still difficult to find the right way.
